Pittsburgh-based tech startup building wearable robotics to offer a new way to experience virtual reality, avoiding the motion sickness and disorientation associated with current VR locomotion techniques, and making it easy for beginners to feel comfortable during their stay in the virtual world.Delivered over 500 experiences safely and without motion sickness across the country and around the world, including to Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey, X-Prize Foundation founder Peter Diamandis, and 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang. Incorporated in May of 2018 and raised over $700K in funding to-date. Participated in CMU's Project Olympus incubator, IW's AlphaLab Gear accelerator, CMU's VentureBridge accelerator, and LG NOVA's Mission for the Future.

Contributed to mechanical and software aspects of a highly experimental, early-stage large format R&D prototype. Developed and characterized mid-stage prototype subsystems for the Form 3.

Founded an LLC to research and develop a total immersion virtual reality system. Created a concept combining a full-body haptic exoskeleton, actively controlled multi-axis gimbals, and a helmet-integrated display. Developed a single degree-of-freedom exoskeleton prototype using a custom-design series elastic actuator. Iterated mechanical designs through CAD, 3D printing, and 3D scanning. Designed and constructed an electrical architecture including sensor PCBs and microcontroller code. GUI development utilizing Matlab and Qt. Worked to replace PID controller with a model-based controller.

Returned to the Flight Controls department and transitioned to part-time employment. Supported flight test and certification of the Boeing 787-9 variant, in-service activities for Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft, and initial development for the Boeing 787-10 aircraft. Provided ancillary support for continuing work on the Comac C919 aircraft.

Moved to the Electronic Systems Engineering & Applications organization. Received formal training in avionics fundamentals, Honeywell Aerospace electronic products, certification regulations and processes, and ground school for visual and instrument flight. Continued working on the Comac C919 Flight Controls program, but as part of the Applications team. Worked with Flight Controls, Air Data, and Sensors teams to address installation and qualification issues in order to provide customer guidance.

Started work on the Comac C919 program while continuing to support the Boeing 787 program. Joined early in the program life-cycle. Assisted in the revision and completion of customer and partner requirement specifications as well as customer training materials. Worked to develop systems architecture and safety requirements definition. Co-developed primary surface reversionary mode control function analysis and requirements. Co-developed module interconnect printed wiring board requirements and design definition.

Started employment during preparation for first flight of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Supported first flight, flight test, certification, entry into service, and subsequent iterations. Developed requirements and Simulink implementations for architecture, monitoring, and ground maintenance functions. Provided specification change review and software prototyping support to customer engineering. Performed root-cause analysis of issues identified during lab test, flight test, and in-service and presented potential resolutions. Fulfilled a focal role during requirements management activities for teams producing software in the Primary Flight partition.
