Web development is one of the key technologies to make mass customization a reality for USA manufacturers. At the end of my time at Prime I will be a certified full-stack web developer, and able to take on a role (if I so desire) as a junior full-stack web developer.

Light Droplet is a manufacturing consultancy. At Light Droplet I am in the process of commercializing a new printing technology by reaching out to the companies that have the most to gain from our technology. Light Droplet provides engineering services along side the technology we are commercializing. We have found this to be necessary, given the technical needs of our target market.

Rapid Interface specializes in low quantity, rapid production of custom products that are difficult to get quickly and in small quantities. We typically work with independent design/engineering/product development firms or new-product-professionals working in a department for larger companies.Rapid Interface produces products using the printing technology we are commercializing through Light Droplet.

My role was to research technologies that may create a major shift in wide format image presentation, or in printing. I created prototype "proof of concept" projects in a number of technologies. The amount of innovation taking place in this vertical market (large image production and large image presentation) is breathtaking. Out of respect for Sign-Zone Inc. I will abstain from describing the details of the research.

My role at Showdown Displays changed to product development after the merging of Creative Banner and Showdown Displays. When the companies merged it was run under the name Sign-Zone Inc.My focus became product development (in stead of product management). It was a focus on product-concept creation for market deploy able products. I collaborated with many designers, and fabrication companies to get ideas off of the drawing board and into the market. In this role I was fortunate to have the freedom needed to learn from my mistakes.-I learned about the process of product development, design through production.

Showdown Displays is the country's leading provider of printed visual communication products. The phrase "we take large printing vertical" is quite literal, as we have structural systems that allow our flexible printing solutions to be visible as you walk by them... common applications include pop-up displays and banner stands, as well as table covers. In this position I learned about offshore sourcing, common industrial processes (plastic injection molding, plastic vac forming, aluminum extruding, industrial sewing) as well as wide format printing processes (dye sublimation, Aqueous printing, Latex printing, UV cure printing, laminating, 2D CNC cutting).-I learned about more manufacturing technologies than I can list here, and why they matter.

Pro Media is a company that specializes in providing logo identified materials to companies who are trying to accomplish targeted goals. It is a promotional product firm working in the ASI/PPAI distribution channels. My role was business development.-I learned the value of distribution channels and the variety of technologies in various print industries.

Fredman Bag is a flexible packaging solution provider. They specialize in printing on plastic roll-stock (polyethylene and similar materials) and converting it into numerous solutions for the retail, gardening, food, and institutional food industries. Fredman Bag has been in business for 120 years, and tends to focus on projects that require quality printing and unique bag structure (zippered bags, handled bags, and gussets). -I learned about the packaging industry, flexographic printing, and unique cost effective uses for packaging films.

At Edge Exhibits I was the market developer for Blueprint Display Systems (known as T3 outside of the USA). Blueprint display System was a new modular display System for Tradeshow, retail, and Special events. Much simpler to use, and lighter than other aluminum extrusion systems (Octanorm/Agam) it was meant to simplify the customization of a display's silhouette and footprint. As remarkable a product as it was, Edge Exhibits discontinued it, as it did not fit with their core competencies. -I learned about 3D design, and product development when I was promoting this system.

Started the WI/IL branch for Continental sign. Sold sign products and services to Builders and Realtors in WI and IL. We performed Post installation and Directional Sign installation as well as manufacturing outdoor signs. Customers included Shorewest Realtors and Bielinski Homes, as well as many others throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. In this position I learned about the importance of an online ordering process, as well as how to sell silk-screening and wide format digital printing.-I learned about silk-screening, and the various digital printing technologies that were changing sign fabrication and outdoor printing at the time.
