At Sigmat my responsibilities include the drawing and detailing of light gauge steelwork for use on various commercial and private projects. This work is done on Tekla Structures, in which I have vastly improved my knowledge of since starting here. I have moved on to write complex custom components that reduce hour long tasks into simple two click operations. Working to meet deadlines has become tougher due to the sheer volume of work involved in jobs, however I believe I have managed to adjust to this and plan my time accordingly.

In my time at Elland Steel I progressed from doing simple admin tasks such as printing and issuing drawings to what I finished up doing which was drawing and detailing steel structures using the Tekla design package. In the latter years I also took to coordinating contracts as well; this is where I would pursue the Engineer and Architect for information and ensure that the job is as accurate and as problem free as possible by the time it reaches site. A portfolio of buildings I have worked on, including 3D models and 2D drawings, is available upon request. Responsibilities: • 8+ years experience using the Strucad drawing and detailing software.• 18 Months using Tekla Structures to draw and detail steelwork.• Using 2D CAD to develop working drawings right through to “as built” drawings.• Using 3D software to detail and connect steel structures and produce fabrication drawings.• Hands on coordination with Architects, Engineers and Main contractors.• Basic design responsibility of steel to steel connections.
