An experienced law enforcement professional, who has demonstrated the ability to supervise, manage and lead at every level. I have well over Twenty Seven years of law enforcement experience in a wide variety of areas to include Patrol, tactical operations, undercover operations, counter terrorism, support services, strategic planning, budgeting, procurement, case management, CALEA, and Professional Standards.

In my time as Police Commander I was in charge of the Gateway Patrol Division (Patrol, Property Crimes investigations, Community Action Teams, Neighborhood Response Unit), Special Operations Division (Traffic Unit, Emergency Response Unit/Counter Terrorism, Special Events Planning) and Administrative Services Division (Fiscal Management Unit, Personnel Management Unit, Training Unit)

Supervised several units within the organization to include; Neighborhood Patrol Services, Special Operations 2014-2017 (SWAT Team Commander-Emergency Response Unit) and Special Investigations Unit 2011-2014 (HIDTA Co-Commander, Narcotics, Fugitive Apprehension, Repeat Offender Program, Street Crimes/Auto Theft). Planned, coordinated, directed and evaluated the activities and staff of assigned Units that I was in command of, both sworn and non-sworn. Directed operations, responded to major crime scenes and took command when appropriate. Monitored, supervised and occasionally participated in pursuits and other situations requiring criminal apprehension. Investigated and resolved citizen complaints and special problems. Advised Commander of special enforcement problems and monitored follow-up. Conducted internal investigations, and/ or assigned supervisory designee to assist with internal investigations. Planned, coordinated, and evaluated emergency management techniques with other shift officers and the Fire Department. Coordinated joint operations with DEA Task Force, U.S. Marshall’s Task Force (VOTF), U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Vehicle Theft Task Force. Supervised and assisted in the coordination of unit or shift focused on community oriented policing issues. Acted as a liaison between management and assigned personnel. Acted in the absence of the Division Commander. Served as an operational area liaison with other law enforcement agencies. Planned and coordinated joint operations with other Local, State, and Federal teams. Performed other related duties as assigned by division Commander. Assignments as a Lieutenant also included Field Training Officer Lieutenant and Staffing Coordinator.

Supervised and evaluated the work of subordinate officers and civilian personnel. Reviewed daily activity logs and police reports for accuracy and thoroughness. Established methods for performing assigned duties. Recommended and assisted in the implementation of department and division goals and objectives. Supervised major criminal investigations and assisted in the coordination of special events. Responded to citizen complaints or questions/internal investigations regarding subordinate officer’s actions and recommended disposition. Responded to major crime scenes and took command when appropriate. Monitored, supervised and occasionally participated in pursuits and other situations requiring criminal apprehension. Completed and maintained various statistical reports and other documentation related to assigned police activities. Maintained statistical data for the department. Evaluated crime trends and recommended new proactive and reactive responses. Researched and analyzed trends and incidents and determined the need for police action or additional police officers in unusual situations. Conducted briefings for Patrol officers. Acted as liaison between management and entry level personnel. Monitored the establishment and progress of all Community Oriented Policing projects in my area. Facilitated and provided information and intelligence for Officers on community oriented policing projects. Assisted in budget preparation and monitored overtime, compensation time, and other department expenditures. I was also a Peer Counselor and served on the police departments’ sworn board of inquiry. Previous assignments include, Patrol Administrative Supervisor, Community Service Officer Supervisor, Neighborhood Response Unit, Field Training Officer, Gang Officer, Patrol Investigator, Juvenile Crime Prevention Unit member, and the Maricopa County Fugitive Task Force (Operation Lock-up) team member.

Began my career in law enforcement at the finest police agency in the Country and worked in several areas but began to learn from the best in Patrol and as a Neighborhood Response Unit officer.
