General Manager
CurrentBeginning in 2008, I became General Manager for Darling International where I continue to direct all aspects of operations for the 20th largest revenue-producing facility in North America. In this capacity, I lead 6+ departments across sites in GA and FL with 110+ employees and an operating budget of $19M+. In addition, I work tirelessly to execute full accountability for a 200+ acre facility encompassing a 30-acre land application site and 9.6M gallon wastewater treatment lagoon in addition to the 44th largest fleet facility in the country. Much of my work involves handling $3.9M in cash flow as well as $2.7M in capital improvements focused on maximizing efficiencies, safety, productivity, and strategic business planning. Core Achievements: ►Lead fleet responsibilities, scheduling maintenance, repairs, as well as acquisitions and disposals. ►Drive productivity and team performance in plan operating procedures and policies using proven best practices in analysis, safety action plans, and employee relations. ►Improve cross-functional team collaborations between managers, mechanics, electricians, fleet personnel, laboratory teams, safety, and external contractors and consultants. ►Integrate technology improvements, such as computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); utilize Microsoft Office Suite to steer analysis, reporting, and monitoring of key metrics. ►Ensure compliance to state and federal guidelines, such as DOT, OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA and others. ►Accomplish goals and corporate initiatives, recruiting, developing, and managing teams of top talent.
