I graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in May 2011 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. In June 2011, myself and my family packed three generations worth of belongings including farming equipment, heirlooms, and several vehicles into 7 storage units. By July we had packed the remaining bare essentials and two dogs into an RV and enclosed trailer and started across the country with an unknown destination, minimal budget, and a drive to see something new. We decided that Oregon was the most likely final destination while in Loveland, CO, and then it was "Oregon or Bust" in the truest sense of the words.I arrived in Bend, OR in August of 2011 and immediately began my job search, taking a temporary position with Jeld-Wen working on the production floor to help make ends meet. I spent my mornings and weekends sending out job applications first in Central Oregon and later to the entire Pacific Northwest. All temporary workers were laid off in early December due to lack of orders, but I was called for an interview at ENERGYneering Solutions, Inc. (ESI) in Sisters, OR the following morning and offered a position as a Mechanical Engineer soon after.In January 2013, I purchased Aquatopia, a small tropical fish store in Bend, OR, with my family. The store is run by my mother, father, and sister on a day-to-day basis allowing me to focus my efforts on ESI and assist with improvements to store on the weekends.I believe my problem solving abilities are my most valuable asset, honed through my education, work experience, and the sometimes grueling journey from Terre Haute, IN to Bend, OR.
