Strengthened PGP’s capital program by improving the capital process and governance controls for project success. Led and completed several large capex projects (>$500k including a ~$7M line conversion) successfully within budget and meeting performance requirements. Recently led a $multi million project for the company along with managing other internal engineering resources, leading the overall capital program, and supporting the company’s technical capabilities and overall strategy.

Led the start up of a greenfield facility that produces soy/rice crisps and other extruded food and feed ingredient products including final construction, recruiting, commissioning, and full scale 24/7 production. In addition to getting the site to full scale commercial production as scheduled, I led the site in acquiring numerous safety, food safety, and quality accreditations and customer approvals in the initial months of production. The ongoing role as Site Manager includes ensuring safety & core values, setting site direction & vision, costs, operational performance, capital, facilities, people, community stewardship, etc. The site has recently increased volume levels, complexity, and staffing requiring leadership through the challenges of a growing facility. The site has achieved ZERO lost time incidents since beginning operation as high standards have been set at the site in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, and housekeeping. As Head of Operational Improvement, I am involved in leading projects that affect the broader PGP business and, in some cases, involve multiple other parter companies in the supply chain. I functioned as the Project Director leading the design and pre-engineering of a large capital project (>$14 million) involving a capacity expansion within the business. In addition, I functioned as the Interim VP of Operations across the company leading all manufacturing (2 sites), planning/scheduling, and engineering business wide.

• Managed plant site that produces soy protein products for industrial use in the paper & board, décor ink, and adhesive industries; includes responsibility for safety & core values, costs, capital, facilities, people, community stewardship, etc• Plant staff included 40 hourly production, maintenance, and lab employees (all represented by the USW union) and 20 managerial, technical, administrative, and co-op engineer employees• Led site through numerous safety improvements in the areas of PSM and workplace safety programs leading to ZERO lost time injuries• Managed site fixed and variable costs to over $1 million in savings vs. budget during 2011 & 2012 • Led site through several key events including successful union contract negotiations, DuPont Production Systems (DPS) implementation, and ISO14001 environmental management system implementation
