I have over twenty-eight years of experience in the Queensland Public Service including over twenty-seven years in the finance branches of several state government departments and over five years combined as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and also as a senior executive and strategic leader within these complex and large organisations. I have achieved a thorough knowledge of financial management and accounting practices and procedures and also gained a wide practical working knowledge of financial legislation.During this time, I have also responded to significant changes including financial system changes, significant organisational and structural changes, the move to shared service models or greater outsourcing of services and other changes in accounting policy and standards. Recently I have been the Head of Corporate Services at the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. This position was responsible and accountable for delivery of corporate support (> 60 staff) to the department including: Financial Services and Facilities Management Procurement Information and Communication Technology Human Resources Strategy & Governance Legal Services
