Over 39 years of experience in emergency/disaster management;Over 38 years as an emergency services volunteer;14 years as a volunteer manager of a voluntary emergency service organisation (1982-1996);17 years with Local Government in the fields of Civil Engineering Drafting and Asset Management (1979-1996);12 and a half years as a permanent full time employee of State Government in the field of Disaster and Emergency Services (1996-2008) during which responsibilities included:- Disaster and Emergency Management Advisory Services- Operational Coordination- Training and Education- Youth Development- Volunteer Management SupportOver 9 years in a local government disaster and emergency management role (2008-2018);Sound relationships with Local Government Mayors, Councillors, Chief Executive Officers and Senior staff as well as Regional Managers and key staff of State and Commonwealth Government agencies, including police and emergency servicesHeld executive committee and judiciary positions with various sporting organisations including cricket and golf;In December 1991 was chosen to represent the Central Queensland area on a Study Exchange to the United States of America.
