Current responsibilities focus on providing regulatory support for all companies operating as part of Evergy; Kansas City Power & Light Company, KCP&L-Greater Missouri Operations Company, and Westar. Guide a fifteen-person work-group responsible for a wide range of regulatory work including determination of retail revenues, load research, rate design, class cost of service, tariff administration, compliance reporting, response to customer complaints, docket management system administration, testimony preparation, general tariff interpretation and application, and relationship development. Responsibilities also include providing leadership and support to work optimizing the Company’s response to new and changing regulatory issues, particularly those impacting the Missouri and Kansas jurisdictions. Areas of emphasis include renewable energy, distributed energy resources, electrification, LED lighting, electric vehicles, and rate design modernization. Prior Regulatory responsibilities included coordination and preparation of Company responses to known regulatory and legislative issues, rulemakings, and trends forming as the result of social, business, or political change.

Conduct audits of internal groups as requested by Company Management and provide consulting services on process improvement to internal groups. Performed significant tasks associated with the Company’s initial Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts with specific emphasis on Information Technology. Efforts included administration of the group’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance application (Risk Control Tracking System).
