As a SagePoint client I was asked by the CEO to take an operating role as the CMO for about a year. My key accomplishment was getting national distribution of ClearPlay products in Walmart and Target though the implementation of the then state-of-the-art video merchandising end cap. It was a network of personal pages based on the metaphor of a yearbook and targeted to Millennials, (called Gen-Y at the time). We also had hooks into Secondary Education through some SasS products that enabled us to infiltrate and enroll users while in high school. I worked in Brand Management, Direct Marketing, Finance, Advertising, and New Product Development. My claim to fame was that I was the inventor of Tostitos Scoops! My last role was as Head of Frito-Lay New Concept Innovation Group (reporting to the President of Frito-Lay). Key Accomplishments: ● Grew and transformed every business I touched and always surpassed my KPI/bonus plan. ● Created Tostitos innovation roadmap including Tostitos Bite Size, Tostitos Gold, and most importantly invented the Tostitos Scoops concept which has yielded over $6B in profits.● Was responsible for crafting the initial “snack-meal strategy” that was the seed of the creation of the Convenience Foods division, which now generates billions of dollars of revenue annually.● Developed a new convenience food concept with BASES/STM estimating it at $800M in revenue. This concept was contractually placed into a joint venture with Kraft Foods. ● Led the “PepsiCo Creative Pool” – a SWAT team of the fifty most creative people in all of PepsiCo tasked with generating innovations for every division. With a brainstorming budgets of a million a year we generated hundreds of viable ideas that were pushed into development by at least three of five divisions. ● Trained over 800 of PepsiCo’s global marketing employees on innovation development● Conceived of and implemented a new pricing strategy for Pizza Hut that yielded $72M in annual profits while simultaneously improving value perceptions of the brand. ● Oversaw the agency development for 5 new product launches consisting of over $10 million in ad production and which yielded over $100M in revenue during the launch year● Created the first ever technology-based direct marketing program in the history of PepsiCo. Credited with accretive profit averaging $17M dollars for each of the five years it ran. -
