Growing up on a small potato farm in mid-Michigan, I’ve always been surrounded by both the challenges and rewards of farming. From an early age, I was fascinated by technology and gadgets, which led me to explore the intersection of agriculture and data. After spending much of my professional career in crop insurance, I saw firsthand the gaps farmers face in translating the data they collect on their farms into actionable insights—especially when it comes to USDA reporting. One of my most frustrating moments as an adjuster was standing in a field of corn that was reported as soybeans, and that moment pushed me to want to make a difference. As the Director of Customer Relations at MyAgData, my mission is simple: to help farmers succeed. I believe in the power of data to improve decision-making, boost profitability, and ultimately make farming more efficient. At the end of the day, farmers are small business owners working with tight margins, and I’m passionate about helping them navigate the complexities of acreage and production reporting. Whether it’s tackling technical gaps with the FSA or fighting to ensure farmers get the support they deserve, I’m here to help bridge the gap between technology and agriculture.Outside of work, I’m deeply passionate about architecture and history. These two elements shape so much of our daily lives and influence how we interact with one another. Ten years ago, I purchased a home designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s apprentices, which sparked my interest in preserving and understanding the artistry behind organic architecture. Both architecture and history have influenced the way I approach my work, reminding me of the balance between innovation and respecting tradition. When I’m not exploring architecture or history, I cherish spending time with my family. Whether it’s playing with my kids or exploring new foods with my wife, I find the world around us both fascinating and magical. Sometimes, it’s the simple things—like sitting down and building something out of Legos—that bring the most joy, reminding me of the satisfaction that comes from creating something from the ground upAt my core, I believe in the value of relationships and community. Farming taught me that when you genuinely care about people and approach your work with respect and dignity, you can make a meaningful impact. That’s the philosophy I bring to everything I do, both in my professional role and in life.
