Successfully completed a summer internship through the Jerry Kleczka Internship program working on a major crime-sentencing project. The project involved looking at over thousands of cases to understand the current sentencing trends in Milwaukee County. My responsibilities included data cleansing of case database information by using Microsoft Excel and Open Refine. In addition, using MS SQL to not only store but edit and manipulate the data. Utilized Tableau to present the data and create interactive maps showing numerous variables which included but not limited to any crime such as what type of crime, date, time, etc. With such a wide scope, the project included supporting the initiatives and using data from external groups such as Milwaukee Re-entry Council, Medical College of Wisconsin and Near Westside Partners.
