Provide production leadership at the Zeeland Generating Facility, consisting of two simple cycle GE 7FA combustion turbines and a 2X1 combined cycle plant with GE 7FA combustion turbines and a GE D-11 Steam Turbine.- Supervision of 20 union combination operators / technicians- Management of $4.8M O&M budget- Responsible for site safety, environmental / regulatory compliance, and achieving site generation targets.

J.H. Campbell Generating Station

Provide leadership for technical support departments at the JH Campbell Generating Facility, including Instrumentation & Controls, Chemistry / Results, and Environmental Departments.- Overall responsibility for management of $4.2M combined annual O&M budget and leadership of organization totaling 24 engineers, chemists, and technicians.- Responsible for ensuring site processes and procedures in place to enable consistent compliance with environmental and regulatory obligations.- Initiation and sponsorship of capital projects to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency of three coal fueled power generation units capable of generating 1,450 MW.- Site lead for development and implementation of plans to track and increase maturity in lean operating practices.- Leadership of site safety and environmental grassroot teams.

J.H. Campbell Generating Station

Project manager for the retrofit of air quality controls at J.H. Campbell Units 1&2. Project includes the installation of Pulse Jet Fabric Filtration for Particulate Matter emissions control, Hydrated Lime Duct Injection for the reduction of SO2 emissions, and Activated Carbon Injection for reduction of Hg emissions.- Overall responsibility for safety, scope, budget, and schedule of six concurrent projects totaling $250M.- Mitigation of inherited $44M budget overage while maintaining key project milestone schedule dates through implementation of risk reduction tools, select engineering / scope changes, and enhanced equipment supplier / contractor coordination.- Management and leadership of multi-disciplinary project team, including on-site construction contractors, equipment vendors, design & field engineers, and startup / commissioning technicians.

D.E. Karn Generating Station

Project Manager on an air quality control retrofit program for the D.E. Karn fossil fuel generating station. Program includes the installation of Spray Dryer Absorbers for the removal of SO2 and Activated Carbon Injection for the removal of Hg from the flue gas of two coal fired units.- Overall responsibility for safety, scope, budget, and schedule of multiple projects totaling $250M.- Management and leadership of multi-disciplinary project team, including on-site construction contractors, equipment vendors, contracted operations staff, design & field engineers, and startup / commissioning technicians. - Primary project interface with plant operations staff in coordination of operational turnover and interim acceptance of new equipment. - Leadership in negotiations for final contractor claims associated with project contract closeouts.

D.E. Karn Generating Station

Lead Engineer on an air quality control retrofit program for the D.E. Karn fossil fuel generating station. Program includes the installation of Spray Dryer Absorbers for the removal of SO2 and Activated Carbon Injection for the removal of Hg from the flue gas of two coal fired units. - Overall responsibility for engineering activities on the project, including design review, engineering issue resolution, risk management, and schedule review.- Supervision of cross disciplinary engineering team, including three internal project engineers and two teams of external consultant engineers.- Assist Project Manager in procurement/contracting strategy development, project schedule development and analysis, and quality assurance / quality control program development and execution.- Development and maintenance of all project document control and project communication processes/tools.

J.H. Campbell Generating Station

Project engineer on the retrofit installation of Selective Catalytic Reduction and Pulse Jet Fabric Filter systems at the JH Campbell Unit 2 fossil fuel power plant.- Overall responsibility for project related engineering activities, with direct oversight of mechanical / civil / structural engineering activities. Included detailed design review, engineering issue resolution, and assisting the project manager with risk management and schedule review.- Management of all project related environmental permitting activities.- Management of two teams of external consultant engineers to meet project deliverables regarding engineering quality, project schedule, and project budget.- Main project contact point during construction for all engineering related issues.- Development / management of project document control processes.

Air Quality Control Technology Engineer within the corporate Environmental Strategy Department. - Provided technical and economic feasibility analyses for potential pollution control projects within the Consumers Energy fossil fuel fleet. - Developed project charters, including project scope and budget, for two large air quality projects.- Planned and managed pollution control technology studies and test demonstrations at generation facilities, including testing of a Mercury emission reduction technology at two fossil fueled plants.- Provided support during conceptual design of a new proposed fossil fuel unit by leading the research effort of carbon capture and sequestration technologies.
