In this role I faced many challenges in the changing manufacturing environment in Australia. I was accountable for the smooth transition of customers to A. Schulman Plastics after the acquisition of Compco and was a senior member of the Management Team. I worked closely with the existing A. Schulman employees and recently acquired Compco personnel to ensure that the customer focus, efficiency and enthusiasm was maintained and strengthened.The main focus for me at this time was to ensure that all of our customers felt assured that the acquisition was not going to affect their businesses. My long-term relationships with these customers allowed for the transition to be seamless.To improve the communication and information sharing between A. Schulman globally and a major international packaging company, I was appointed as a Global Strategic Account Manager. This role involved developing a strategy that mutually benefitted both parties.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this position involved market analysis identifying areas of potential profitable growth, customer relationship development and cash flow management.This role involved :- - developing and improving customer relationships - providing strategic direction - preparing and monitoring company budgets - negotiating supply contracts - growing the customer base - consulting on business development - optimising cash flows through closely managed stock holding - mentoring personnel

Responsible for the entire production operation, this position involved process development and optimisation, development of lean manufacturing practices, staff development and upgrading and maintaining the ISO9001 Quality Management System.

This was a key position for providing and coordinating technical assistance to production, developing new products and processes, and delivering technical support to customers. As this was a newly created position, the role also involved reflection of the current practices with a critical eye.
