• Promote and maintain a safe working environment Manage the purchasing and procurement activities for all livestock products. • Manage the negotiations for renewal of supply contracts • Manage the scheduling and planning for all third party contractors.• Investigate, analyse and resolve supply chain issues.• Identify and develop strategies to better master the supply chain, improve customer focus and promote a results driven attitude to improve set key performance indicators.• Ensure that quality practices, systems and procedures are adhered to so that all products, related information and services are compliant with company and relevant state regulatory requirements• Provide leadership, support and development of staff within the Livestock Team.• Set key goals and objectives for direct reports that are aligned to the company’s critical success factors.• Conduct periodic evaluations; provide feedback, motivation, reward and recognition.• Conduct annual performance reviews; and ensure that the company’s vision, values, culture and strategy are fostered. • Create and manage expenditure budgets.• Ensure inventory levels are balanced, in line with manufacturing efficiencies and customer demands to maximise financial returns to the business.• Identify, establish and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers.• Participate in sustainable development projects and where opportunities present, incorporate into livestock team.
