I have had over 40 years experience in spatial industry covering Australia, South East Asia and Europe:Initially a cartographic draftsman then photogrammetrist to computer programmer and mid-level Manager in SA Government. Then I went to the private sector as consultant, pre and post sales support for a mapping software (Synercom) reseller then moved into sales for a CAD package (Pallet) and then promoted to technical products business unit manager for all software products we were supporting nationally. I also successfully migrated the Synercom mapping software to Ernst & Young and headed up their sales and support group for 2 years. Then a short period as a managing consultant at Easams Australia. Then I spent three years as the GIS industry marketing manager at Digital equipment where I worked with most GIS vendors in Australia and across Asia Pacific. Then I became Partner Manager in Asia Pacific at Smallworld and transferred to the UK head office as an Australian ex-pat in the role of Global Partner Manager. I was promoted to Business Unit Manager for the UK Smallword sales and support team. As part of GE, this role expanded to geographies in Europe where we won the largest Smallworld GIS sales contract in France. When I resigned from GE to return to Australia, I was running the France - Belgium - Netherlands operations unit with an annual budget of over 13m euros per year. On returning to Australia I worked with Australian GIS and Software services companies before establishing the Cubewerx subsidiary in Australia.I then used the Cubewerx software in a family business internet startup called NuMaps with the aim to publish geospatial data on the Internet as a subscription service for the SME market place in Australia.I was also a Board member of the Spatial Industries Business Association from 2005 through to 2011.Specialties: spatial - GIS - mashups - SDI - Cubewerx - openlayers - Ext - mocha - javascript - MS office - consulting
