Member of Human Systems Integration Team for Mine Resistant Armor Protected (MRAP) vehicles as well as Common Aviation Command Control System (CAC2S) programs through support of NSWCDD and the Marine Corps.Reviewed system integration proposals for safety, ergonomic, human factors, and usability issues. Provide knowledge and research in support of possible solutions. Examples include:○ MRAP Buffalo self-extracting winch system and power supply integration on existing fleet vehicles. Explore issues related to operator safety from high-tension cables as well as increased possibility of rollover.○ MRAP MaxxPro TOW/ITAS weapon system integration and associated turret design. Increased the percentage of operators who can effectively use the system and assisted with safety issues related to unexpended ordinance removal as well as ingress/egress. ○ MRAP All Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) exterior B-pillar handhold integration and design.○ M-ATV RPG detection and warning system integration with current vehicle configuration and the associated modifications required. ○ Fleet-wide MRAP safety checklist and cab warning label system development and implementation.Support hands-on MRAP vehicle inspections. Examples include:○ M-ATV underbody improvement kit (UIK) examination to determine changes in usability conditions which may impact operator safety or other issues.○ M-ATV blast mitigation Jankel seat examination in order to assess unknown dangers to users in regards to emergency egress and exposure to GFE within the vehicle.○ MaxxPro TOW/ITAS weapon and turret system integration evaluations alongside subject matter experts (users) and system designers.○ Towing and Recovery Integrated Product Team involvement and inspection of the new MRAP Recovery Vehicle (MRV). Assessed for safety hazards associated with cab occupancy, system maintenance, and crane operations.Lend support for technical and subject matter issues regarding safety, ergonomic, and human factors.
