I'm a journalist, mostly on the editing end of things these days. Primary venues over the years include Houston Press (defunct, more or less), Texas Observer (thriving), and Missoula Independent (definitively defunct). I started as editor of Montana Free Press (montanafreepress.org) in the summer of 2019.Recent freelance appearances include the Los Angeles Review of Books and the Texas Observer. Occasional moonlight editing, copy editing, proofreading, style guidance and peer review for Patagonia Books, Mountain Press, and Write By Night, among others. Opportunity, Montana: Big Copper, Bad Water, and the Burial of an American Landscape was published by Beacon Press in 2013 and is still pretty good.
