My early work history began at a tobacco warehouse in Kentucky. I was hired at 15 to be a forklift operator and floor technician. I was responsible for loading/unloading incoming suppliers/buyers as well as ensuring the work areas were clean and safe at all times. At the age of 16 I was hired at a local restaurant as a kitchen prep aid. This transitioned into a cook position by 17 until I graduated high school and moved for college at Morehead State University. AT MSU I studied computer & visual arts w/ graphic design while working restaurant jobs and marketing jobs through MSU. I attended college for 2 years I left due to lack of funding and entered the workforce full-time.I went to work for Wal-Mart where I successfully managed a 1.5 million dollar a year electronics department. I was responsible for inventory management, marketing, staffing, and scheduling for approximately 20 employees.After 3 years in retail management I went to work for North American Stainless Steel. I began as a floor operator and was tasked with inspecting hydraulic, electric and grease systems as well as heavy equipment inspections/maintenance. I was promoted within the first year to an Operator where I ran specialized heavy equipment that produced stainless steel products. I worked at various locations within the plant and was trained to operate all overhead cranes and special equipment in our division.I moved to Maryland in 2010 and started at Toyota in Annapolis. I was in the top 3 in sales for 2 years and was promoted to Internet Sales Manager. I left Toyota to begin a family and try to find a more family friendly employer.I worked at State Farm for 1 year as an Insurance Sales agent specializing in Life Insurance. This was an underwhelming experience with no challenges after the first year and I left this position to begin my career in the marine industry.Starting in 2013 I began working for Herrington Harbour Marinas as a Yard Service Technician. I was quickly promoted into an office position focusing on marketing, branding, and improving their event calendar. I have been their event director since 2015 and have worked to create a tight community of boaters, increased customer retention and decreased the avg. age of boaters at the facilities.I took an opportunity to learn marina management and began working as a Harbormaster for Hartge Yacht Yard in 2022 while still managing events for HHN.LLC. At Hartges I am responsible for every aspect of daily operations for a small marina of 276 slips and 60 moorings.
