Some of my basic job duties and accomplishments:- Handled a wide variety of material shortage problems by negotiating extra capacity with suppliers, and finding alternative suppliers for spot buys in tight situations, but above all, ensured that Dana plant material shortages wouldn’t Impact customer assembly lines. - Created multiple spreadsheet templates to track and monitor anything from planned shipments and material in transit from overseas suppliers to critical domestic components where a much leaner inventory strategy was used.- Tracked and reported supplier performance based on metrics that were agreed upon by global material team.- Helped create a better pricing model which added some risk factors that weren't considered before. We are now able to project a best and worst case scenario along with what we think the most realistic cost will be.- Designated a team leader for the implementation of min/max inventory strategy at our facilities in Mexico. Some of our early returns have yielded an inventory savings of $250,000, and the initiative is still in its pilot phase.- Assigned to many commercial vehicle supplier crossover, or onboarding teams. Responsibilities and Accomplishments:- In charge of a North American supplier base who ship auto parts to GM Holden Motors(Australia). - Made sure that suppliers were shipping to according to delivery just in time releases (deljits)\- Assigned carriers to retrieve the freight, and made sure the freight was flowing through the proper channels to ensure on time delivery to the customer. - Filled gaps in the supply chain by authorizing air freight to make sure there were no line stoppages. - Performed cost analyses to determine if there were areas that we could be saving the customer money by routing parts through a different transportation channel. - Helped solve any question concern, or discrepancy the customer had, and acted as the state side representative they needed because of the 14 hour time differential- Part of the initial GM Export Material Management launch team.- Nominated as the “super-user” for any internal or GM related application for every region (Asia/Pacific, Australia, Europe and South America)(if an analyst had a question or problem I would help guide them to a solution)- After joining the Australia team I helped bring the compliance rate up from 70% (deemed unacceptable by GM standards) to 94% (considered more than satisfactory)- Promoted to lead material analyst for the Australia region, which Exel upper management has used as an example to other regions (Europe Opel Motors, Korea/China, and South America) of how they are looking for the account to be managed, and the high performance level that the analysts need to maintain.
