About Brad Wright

I love telling a story, and I love selling a story, and over the course of my career so far I've been pretty good at telling the story of a brand, business or product...so here's my story (thus far). In the 20 years to this point in my career I've worked with some of the world's biggest brands, and been given the opportunity in that time to run some large and successful business units. In the course of doing that, I've learned a few things about what I do, how I do it, and how I lead. So what is it I do? My background is product marketing and product management. From there I took on roles that added sales management and key account management responsibilities. This lead me to the role of Director of the TV/AV business unit for Samsung here in Australia and then the Retail Director position at Schneider Electric. Those roles included P&L ownership, general management of the day-to-day, product marketing, product management, supply chain, strategic account management and field sales responsibilities. Having stepped out of the CE industry for a while, I was drawn back to it, and it's people, which saw me take on the role of General Manager at NARTA. That, for now, is where my career journey has taken me. So how did I work in those roles? I worked best in dynamic, high energy environments, grounded in customer insights with like minded people. That allowed me to learn and grow & provided me the opportunity time and again to jump put of my comfort zone to learn more. I've found the greatest challenges and also greatest rewards come from leading teams. So how do I lead? Firstly, make sure the vision of what the business sets out to achieve is well known, and has the input and buy-in of the key parts of the team. Secondly, give everyone a clear line of sight to expectations and what success looks like. If leading through change, communicate, communicate, communicate. Ensure stake holders trust you know what you're doing and let you & your team do your thing!
