About Brad Beaubien

Brad is an award-winning certified urban planner with a commitment to community service, a passion for vibrant communities, and a focus on community empowerment, planning and design policy, and plan integration. He is the Director of Destination Development for Visit Indy, a destination marketing organization working to enhance the quality of life in Indianapolis by optimizing visitor-related economic impact. In his role, he works to implement planning investments that make the city an attractive place to live, because a great place to visit is also a great place to live.Previously he served as the Long-Range Planning Administrator for the Department of Metropolitan Development at the City of Indianapolis, where he was responsible for leading the long-range planning functions of the City. He also served for 6 months as the Acting Director of DMD during a Mayoral transition. He has also served as Director of Ball State’s College of Architecture and Planning Indianapolis Center, a satellite outreach and education facility and home to the University’s Master of Urban Design program. Brad also founded Agora LLC, a sole proprietorship offering community planning, communication, and policy consulting services.He holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Ball State University, and a Master of Natural Resources degree from Oregon State.He is a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series Class XXXVIII as well as the Indianapolis Business Journal's Forty Under 40 Class of 2013, a recognition given to Indianapolis business and professional leaders who have achieved success and excelled in their field before the age of 40. He was honored as one of Citizens' (Energy Group) 125 Neighborhood Leaders, and his work is also the recipient of several awards, including several Hoosier Planning Awards and three National Planning Awards from the American Planning Association, an Exemplary Systems in Government Award from the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association, a Cultural Vision Award from NUVO Newsweekly, and a Digital Education Achievement Award from the Center for Digital Education. Brad has served as the Secretary for the Board of Directors of the King Park Area Development Corporation, where he founded the Public Safety Committee.
