Working at NASIC located at WPAFB, supporting over 100 Linux (CentOS) servers for data scientists in a research lab environment. vSphere administrator for the 20+ servers that are virtual. Physical servers are a mix of Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, and Cisco UCS blades. Most servers act as nodes in a Mesospehere cluster. Several servers act as Samba servers to ingest petabytes of data on a daily basis. Also responsible for large storage pods configured as ZFS filesystems. Currently working to migrate services to AWS.

Hired on as the first IT employee responsible for everything related to IT. Responsible for the corporate network along with three other air-gapped (classified) networks. For all networks, administer Active Directory, Group Policies and WSUS. Build, configure, patch, upgrade and troubleshoot physical and virtual Windows/Linux/ESXi servers, as well as all developer workstations. Utilized Ansible for Linux configurations. Developed backup strategy for all networks. Administer FreePBX (Asterisk) VoIP server and configure VoIP phones. Administrator for Google Workspace Enterprise Plus. Documented procedures and tracked major tasks via on-site web application. Configured and deployed a Network Monitoring System (NMS) for setting SNMP services and other monitoring services like HTTPS certificate validity checks. Setup IT infrastructure for two remote offices. Point of contact for all IT purchases.

Contracted as the Sr. Systems Administrator with Dayton Public Schools responsible for the Novell GroupWise email system (3,200 employees) and servers to insure full-time availably, including GroupWise Mobility that allows mobile devices to synchronize. All GroupWise and GroupWise related systems run on SuSE Linux. Administrator of the document imaging system (OnBase) file, database, and web servers including SQL Server maintenance. Also the Active Directory administrator as it is used for LDAP authentication throughout multiple systems in the network as well as keeping replication current amongst other AD servers and integrating with Novell eDirectory. VMWare ESXi 5.0 administrator for 3 high-end VMWare host servers that hosts 150 virtual servers utilizing High Availability in the environment.From November 2012 thru January 2014, I also took on the role of the Network Operations Manager which was responsible for the ongoing support of all IT infrastructure components and systems, including networking, telecommunications, desktop support, licensing, hardware repair, asset management, and desktop equipment acquisition and deployment. This support was measured in terms of end user availability to needed IT resources, responsiveness to reported problems, and security of District hardware, software, and information assets. Maintained written and verbal communication with the Program Manager and IT Management on projects, issues, outages and updates, and act as a client and management liaison as needed. Traveled to client locations to provide expert technical support for workstations, servers, and networking issues including but not limited to DNS and DHCP support, VMWare and Hyper-V installation and maintenance. Administered Windows Active Directory, SBS, MSSQL, Exchange, Anti-Virus, Backup solutions, and firewalls.

Configured and actively supported 400 HP workstations, 3 PowerEdge Windows servers, and 1 Linux server. Utilized Novell ConsoleOne and Altiris for user administration, packaging and deploying software and VB scripts. Active Directory, file/print server, and ISA proxy server, assigning user file and printer permissions, maintaining uptime and network performance, creating Group Policies, and setting up VPN access.
