My professional passion is improving the built environment via green infrastructure, with a healthy dose of technology. While the other kids were playing ball, I was drawing blueprints, growing plants, and crawling through storm pipes. A next logical step was to get a degree in landscape architecture (but not without a minor in computer science), then practice landscape architecture for a little over a decade. My specialty was construction documents, construction administration, specifications, cost estimation and "forensic landscape architecture" (ask me about that).Wanting to focus more specifically on solving environmental problems, I moved into green roofs, where I built upon my experience by researching, developing, patenting and marketing innovative products. I saw a tremendous need to better leverage technology in the green industry, so I polished my skills with an eye to do just that. This led to an amazing opportunity at Green Roof Diagnostics, which I now lead. GRD is a research company where we blend technology and collaboration with some of the best brains in the industry to raise the bar for science in the green infrastructure industry. We may have unprecedented environmental challenges ahead of us, and I am very happy to work with a tremendous team on solving a few of those challenges.

FounderUrban Meadow Jun 2020 - Sep 2023I started urbanmeadow.org because I love urban meadows and appreciate their benefits, but I found that information about the topic is hard to find, and generally tailored to an audience who has already "drank the Kool-Aid". I want to democratize urban meadows, and I invite partners in this endeavor. Check out urbanmeadow.org if you want to learn, and - particularly while the site is starting up - if you want to submit resources (links to sites, books, PDFs, presentations), become a consultant or recommend a consultant, submit a project (please!), or write a blog post.Urbanmeadow.org is a volunteer organization, including me. -
