Tahoe Adventure Leaning Institute was a professional team-building and leadership development training organization. Tahoe’s beautiful outdoor venues and our structured activities offered creative learning opportunities for small groups, diversified teams, or an entire organization. We led, organized and facilitated extraordinary adventure-based experiences that were specifically designed to increase team effectiveness, improve communication, and assist in celebrating each group's potential. We offered multi-sport outdoor adventure learning programs in North Lake Tahoe and in South Lake Tahoe at our Tahoe Challenge Center, as well as other year ’round outdoor adventure activities.

Mr. Childs’ responsibilities focused upon developing and supervising outdoor recreation programs as a wilderness survival and rock climbing instructor, and leading environmental interpretive hikes and special events. Responsibilities included visitor information, public meetings, teacher in-service seminars and public education and outreach workshops. He supervised the Recreation Transit Program at the Malibu Creek park site, led beach and tidepool programs, and worked cooperatively with county and state park agencies. Responsibilities also included research and development of interpretive displays, providing visitor information, hosting public meetings, teacher in-service seminars, public education slide shows on chaparral ecosystem and fire ecology, and inner-city community outreach. He has trained in Wildland Fire Management (prevention, prescribed burns, fire fighting) and served as a Backcountry Ranger and in Search and Rescue operations, having been recognized with several performance commendations for his work in this area.
