Led the team responsible for procurement of non-merchandise supplies and services as well as environmental management for Supply Chain. • Successfully implemented numerous capital projects with an annual expenditure of $12 - $15 million. • Directed the management of a $12 million dollar annual operating expense budget achieving 2 to 5% below budget.• Developed and implemented Maintenance standards across all Supply Chain facilities that aligned maintenance procedures and ensured performance consistency over 6 distribution and warehouse facilities. • Established and executed annual audit process for the Maintenance standards that drove increased reliability. • Restructured procurement processes segregated across multiple groups by developing a Central Procurement Office. • Led the development of an Environmental policy for Toronto Operations, achieving ISO 14001 compliance for the Toronto Operations facilities.• Reduced energy consumption by 1,800,000 kWh in 2013 and over 2,000,000 KWh in 2014.• Increased waste diversion from landfill from 65% to 90% from 2012 to 2014.• Launched and spearheaded a complex and innovative project to replace batteries in lift trucks with Hydrogen Fuel Cells (HFC’s) - included the development of an onsite hydrogen generating station the first commercially funded station of its kind in North America. Key results: - successfully obtained funding approval from multiple levels of executive management for $2.5 million;- increased productivity of converted fork lifts by over 15%; and- project’s business case demonstrated a return on invested capital of up to 25%.

Canadian Tire Home Office & Montreal Distribution Centre

Spearheaded a cross-functional initiative to design, build and operationalize the 1.5 million square foot Montreal Distribution Centre. • Completed the project over a four year period to a highly successful implementation coming within the budget of $250 million and delivering an operational facility on time. • Directed a diverse cross functional team of engineers, project managers, operations experts, trainers and external contractors. Created a work environment that fostered collaboration and respect and successfully delivered all phases of the project with no major delays.• Managed project coordination and project scope with divisional Real Estate and Information Technology teams, delivering a fully operational distribution centre.

Brampton Distribution Centre

Directed the operations of a 1.4 million square foot distribution centre to ensure cost effective on time delivery of merchandise to dealer retail stores across Canada. Led a team of 16 managers, 70 crew leads, and 465 hourly employees; managed an annual expense budget of over $60 million and $10 million capital budget.• Implemented a new organization structure that provided more focus on process and led the development of a work balancing process.• Successfully implemented a seven day week shift structure with satisfactory employee buy-in and without any major disruption to business.• Co-led a cross functional initiative to improve operations scheduling and increase capacity by developing an operational plan to shunt trailers from lower to upper sections of the DC; reduced the cycle time to move product inside the DC, increasing the capacity from 1.1 million cubic feet of outbound merchandise per week to 1.5 million.

A. J. Billes Distribution Centre

Led all Maintenance, Facility Engineering, and Loss Prevention activities for three Toronto distribution centres; managed an annual budget over $13 million; implemented the first Computerized Maintenance Management System (MAXIMO) within Canadian Tire.

Brampton Distribution Centre

Responsible for all maintenance operations for a highly automated 1.4 million square foot distribution centre. Managed a large multi-disciplinary team of tradesmen, planners and supervisors in a three shift environment.

Barrie, Ontario

Managed a team of 50 tradesmen, supervisors, planners and expense stores clerks in a 24 /7 operations, 600,000 sq. ft. tire manufacturing plant; included full responsibility for all manufacturing equipment reliability and facility maintenance except boiler plant operations.
