Research nuclear environments and analyze them for the survivability of systems after an event in a variety of scenarios to inform the sponsor on possible and likely outcomes.Use established tools from the US government and DOD sources to create and simulate environments of varying scale that can be performed by personal computers to High Performance Computing clusters and create outputs and visualizations to make informed decisions on environments.

Implemented data analysis in both time and frequency domains for data pertaining to nuclear fuel cycles for the purposes of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Built machine learning models using Python and TensorFlow to identify and classify key attributes of the fuel cycles process.

Used R to clean and prepare time series and spatial data to analyze from a simulated airfield dataset. Implemented a variety of machine learning algorithms to test hypotheses about the data, including regressions, decision trees, random forests, support vector machines and clustering techniques. Produced a narrative analysis book written in R Markdown/Latex to showcase methods and results to be presented to potential customers including the United States Air Force and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center.

Co-project manager for a team of students who received a local high school basketball team’s statistics. Created visualizations and generated useful feedback in order to better help coaches and players understand their performance.

Responsible for assisting in the research and development of a new laboratory focused on platform signature simulation and modeling. Specific tasks included development of test CAD models, initialization and testing of optical simulation toolsets, and evaluation of CAD configurations for simulation usage.

Summer Fellow as part of the Universities Space Research Association for the Center for Space Nuclear Research with a purpose of reaching a quota issued by NASA for Plutonium-238 production. Used Serpent and MCNP, two Monte-Carlo depletion codes to model Plutonium-238 production in Idaho National Laboratory's Advanced Test Reactor. Analyzed these code's output file to give recommendations for how to further pursue the goal.

Coordinated with volunteers to ensure the lab participants' needs were met. When necessary, tutored and assisted students in lower level physics classes with coursework, understanding and homework.

Volunteer as a tutor in the BYU-I drop in lab to help other students understand and complete coursework.

Built and coded a data logger using an Arduino Platform to measure the changing temperature from the Troposphere to the Stratosphere. Launched the data logger on a near space project where a high altitude weather balloon rose 30 kilometers off the ground and collected the changing temperature. Compared results to previous studies and findings from other universities.

Conducted data analysis and entry into Cooperative Observer Program (COOP) for the National Weather Service (NWS), Regional Climate Center Program, and National Climatic Data Center. Collected key weather measurements and to measure long term climate changes. Operated and oversaw weather station including: Anemometer, Class A Evaporation station, and Nimbus digital thermometer.

Assisted in preparing and scanning soil/rock samples used for X-ray diffraction patterns. Supported and performed XRD pattern analysis and measurement of soil/rock samples. Determined the make-up of soil/rock samples by comparing them to a database to establish benchmarks and insights.
