Braden Keiser, M.Sc Email and Phone Number
I am focused on improving human and environmental health through the use of cutting-edge computational and experimental methods to unravel the mystery of complex biological systems. My portfolio is nested within green enzyme engineering from sequence to structure, combining sequencing information from omics data analysis with machine-learning for mutation prediction and assessing variant viability via QM/MD simulation. Along the way, I have learned microbiology techniques hands-on for interrogating cell systems, as these are the physical foundations of any synthetic measure. Confident with PCR/qPCR, chromatography, ELISA, western blot, DNA/RNA isolation and extraction, cell-culturing, and fluorescence microscopy, I am prepared to step into both wet and dry-lab roles. It is my passion to continue to pursue novel methods through which global issues can be confronted and combated via adaptive biology. Whether these be on monitoring disease progression or contrasting disparate lineages, it is an exciting age where multi-modal biological information is under the microscope. I look forward to connecting!

Freelance Bioinformatics Analyst (Available For Contracts)Freelance Jun 2024 - Oct 2024Tewksbury, Massachusetts, United StatesAs a freelance bioinformatics analyst, I specialize in troubleshooting DNA, RNA, and protein mutagenesis strategies, encompassing everything from sequence analysis to structural interpretation. My services include:• Omics Data Analysis: Parsing sequence information for quality control, trimming, and expression profiling;• Automated Scripting: Developing streamlined protocols for Linux systems, compatible with both local and high-performance computing (HPC) environments.• Literature Review: Conducting thorough reviews to support data interpretation and research.Proficient in Python and R, I prioritize creating backward-compatible code to support dynamic workflows and enhance research capabilities without disrupting existing frameworks. This role builds on my collaborative research experience at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where I partnered with the Thailand National Institute for Genetic Engineering on biorefinery initiatives. With a year of hands-on cell biology lab experience, I am eager to return to benchwork and am passionate about developing experimental sequencing strategies and constructing omics libraries. From the command line to the cell line, I am dedicated to deriving actionable insights from complex biological systems.

Esl Science TeacherEemom Aug 2016 - Feb 2021Kunming, Yunnan, ChinaFollowing my undergraduate studies, I moved to the capital city of Kunming in Yunnan province, China to teach English. With my science background, I was able to teach English through an interactive science program to elementary and middle school students. This was a wonderful time of my life where I learned much about my own cultural preconceptions, the inspiring diversity of ethnic cultures in rural China, and conveying the importance of science education across a wide swathe of youth backgrounds.
