• As an Interface developer at UMC Health System, I am developing new hl7 interfaces through the Cerner integrated tools and language. I also maintain all the existing interfaces processing hl7 traffic in and out of our Cerner EHR system.• All our interfaces utilize custom scripting using the CCL integrated language. Since joining UMC, I have used some of my free time to optimize and modernize all the existing code for every interface.• Developed reporting tools and programs using SQL, CCL, Python, and various other languages to optimize our repetitive processes, improve our error/warning logging, and implement other improvements I identified.• After completing ITIL foundations and agile development training, I have assisted our team in implementing the processes taught in the courses to improve team efficiency and communication.• Managed multiple large projects involving the implementation of Cerner hl7 interfaces.• After a couple months of working at UMC, I was put on a project that was already in progress to integrate another hospital (TTUHSC) into our Cerner registration system, making our EMR system effectively theirs as well. I was originally put on the project to observe but after the Cerner developers said a few requests by TTUHSC were impossible, I created some scripts that did what they were looking for. After that, I ended up taking over the project and turning it around. I completed the full integration through multiple hl7 interfaces and have continued to maintain and upgrade them when needed. I was given the Outstanding Performance award for my department in my first year for my work done on that project as well as many others.• I have also been taking on work for the software development team on the side when needed implementing changes to their websites and applications built using ASP.NET, C#, Blazor and various other languages and frameworks.

• When I started at Battery Joe, I was not able to help customers right away because there was numerous part numbers and prices to learn. • Since I do not like just standing around and watching to learn, I started reorganizing their store. There were not many employees, so it had gotten very unorganized, especially in the back.• I reorganized their inventory in the front and back, so items were ordered by type and item number making them easier to find. While doing this I was memorizing part numbers and prices and asking the manager questions about them to learn what they were so I could answer customer questions.• Then, I reorganized their order system and started to help the manager keep track of orders. While doing this I learned how to repair most phones that were commonly brought in and would help with repairs when we got backed up. All of this was done in about a month and a half.• The general manager was impressed with the work and once I was done, he moved me to a bigger store to do the same thing there. • While organizing that store, I took on almost all assistant manager duties, since there was not one, to help out the manager.

• I was initially hired to work on estimation.• Soon after starting, I noticed that their method of estimation required frequent hand calculations and user-entered data. I knew this could be improved upon and automated.• I brought it up with the head of estimation and we worked out an idea of what they wanted.• I was tasked with using an excel worksheet with all initial data and information and using that to do all necessary estimation calculations and populate their excel templates. • He wanted it done in VBA because that is what he knew. I had never used VBA, so I learned it while programming.• It was expected to be completed in three months and I was able to complete it in about one. I spent a couple more weeks bug testing and fixing it before giving it to the engineers to use.• Since I was done quickly, I also converted one of their old DOS programs into VBA.
