My primary responsibility is to make sure players have fun and prioritize their game experience. I am responsible for scheduling staff members on games during the shift, ensuring games are started on time and that all guests are enjoying a quality game experience as well as opening and closing duties in the store, including cash management. I also introduce guests to the game, explain game rules and mechanics and monitor gameplay to help improve players’ experiences by making sure they are on track to finding clues and offering help when needed. During COVID, we switched to virtual games and I had to personify the game for virtual players across the globe and perform operations based on their specific instructions (wearing a camera on my forehead) without using my biased knowledge of how to win the game.

My primary responsibility was helping players better understand every aspect of League of Legends, providing feedback regarding champion selection, analyzing gameplay and watching replays of games, and developing strategies to help our players improve their competitive game. Because of my deep knowledge of League of Legends, I was an asset to the team and successfully helped improve our collegiate team’s competitiveness. I thoroughly understand the mechanics of the game and interplay between champions in the game because of my experience playing and discussing the game with the team. My critical thinking and analytical skills have contributed to a keen ability to accurately predict the effects of new content in League of Legends and how the changes will impact gameplay.
