Hello, my name is Braden Reid. I am a first-year Commerce Co-op student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. My major is currently undeclared but I am extremely hopeful for a future in the finance field. I'm from Ottawa, Ontario, where I attended Merivale High School from 2019 until graduating in 2023 with many academic and athletic awards.Outside of my academics, I have been active in volunteering and work. I volunteered at SkiAbility Ottawa where I worked with mentally and physically challenged people of all ages. My responsibilities included greeting people in both official languages, as well as providing assistance by side skiing next to the participants to help them succeed. In addition, I also worked at Calypso as a lifeguard for two years where I enforced pool regulations and guarded the wave pool. These experiences have given me life-long skills such as adaptability, communication, and responsibility. With these skills, I am confident that I can make a difference and extend to an already amazing team.I'm eager to work in positions that will help me learn more about finance which will help me build a foundation for my future. I hope to gain networks and connections to help myself build a profile in the business world.
