Operations & Maintenance Supervisor
Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan
Member of 5 person management team responsible for the Operations & Maintenance of over 2.9 million square feet of facilities infrastructure in support of the US and Coalition forces in Afghanistan. Total scope of the project included nearly 4,000 semi-permanent facilities, 12,000 HVAC units, and 650 generators supporting approximately 20,000 military and support personnel. -Trained, mentored and supervised over 800 trades and administrative personnel (both foreign nationals and expats) in 10 departments, including Power Generation, Electrical, HVAC , Plumbing, Carpentry, Roads & Grounds, Labor and Waste Management.-Managed the preventative maintenance (PM) and technical inspection (TI) processes consisting of over 60,000 service orders per year.-Advised Site Management and the Contract Manager on the addition and removal of facilities and services -Served as liaison for facilities management issues with the US Government Contracting Officer (ACO) and US Army Garrison. -Oversaw work orders and special projects, including facilities moves, minor renovations, and change orders.-Ensured work orders were estimated properly and stayed within contract scope. -Provided oversight for the Waste Management Facility that processed over 120 tons of trash per day.-Managed subcontractors, including water delivery and waste water removal.Provided oversight and support for department supervisors by implementing SOPs, expediting material requests by partnering with regional logistics, and auditing department compliance with all government and contract requirements. Performed audits on material control systems, including bench stock and shop stock inventories and automatic re-supply levels. Ensured all work was performed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with OSHA and Army safety standards.
