Having completed a Diploma of Community Services at Victoria University, in my placements with VincentCare (Hotel COVID Response program) and Uniting Wesley Footscray Outreach I began developing my professional practice in a real-world setting. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, at VincentCare I coordinated the delivery of person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based case management services to vulnerable community members with highly complex needs. At Uniting Wesley Footscray Outreach, I was encouraged to provide support to vulnerable consumers with complex issues or facing hardship just four days into my placement. From conducting assessments to providing referrals to appropriate services, I demonstrated my commitment to a client-centred and ethical approach. Now qualified, I have begun my practice in Child Protection Case Management with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
