• Provide advanced technical support to VCE Engineering and Development teams on entire VCE portfolio of products.• Expert level knowledge of physical and logical build process of the VCE Vblock Converged Infrastructure (CI) platforms.• Primary technical focus on VCE CI stack architecture including; Cisco UCS chassis, C and B-series servers, FI’s, FEX, MDS, Nexus 9K-2K L2/L3 networking, EMC VNXe, VNX, and VMAX storage arrays, VMWare vCenter/ESXi 5.0-6.1.• Follow best practices for cabling, labeling, power distribution, rack/stack, naming standards and logical configuration.• Secondary technical focus on ACI, NSX, RecoverPoint, Avamar, DataDomain, VPlex, Isilon, XtremeIO, ScaleIO.• Provide Release Certification Matrix (RCM) upgrades and storage refreshes to Vblock systems for Platform Development, Corporate Engineering, Software Dev, Hardware QA, Tradeshow related events and POC engagements.• Mentor junior staff on installation, administration and support of a large scale multi-domain R&D lab environment.• Responsible for installation, support and management of core Cisco Nexus 7K switches across two data centers for VCE Internal R&D lab operations.• Hands on installation, configuration and management of over two hundred racks of VCE Converged and Hyper-converged cloud computing platforms maintaining detailed documentation to the port level.• Other projects included building and deploying a pair of infrastructure VB340’s in support of expediting frequent storage array refreshes thus easing the rotation of hundreds of storage system migrations, installations and decommissions.• Served as an adviser to the Director of Infrastructure for planning new data center infrastructure needed to support relocation of existing data center labs in Santa Clara, CA and Durham, NC.• Part of a small senior team responsible for corporate lab wide implementation of technologies from Cisco, EMC, VMWare, PRTG, Cattools, Infoblox and Splunk.
