Prior, I was coordinated UNHCR's outreach and partnership initiatives from its regional office in Panama across Latin America. Copenhagen Area, Denmark

Led account management for some of UNHCR's largest global account with business and foundations. These relationship generated millions of dollars of contribution in cash, in kind in support of UNHCR´s life saving work with refugees and built awareness of the global refugee crisis. Developed and coordinated Private Sector Partnership capacity building for the global network of fundraising staff.

Toronto, Canada Area

Managed and drove usage of World Vision’s Partnering Community of Practice to support effective collaboration. Provided 'hands on' partnership development and brokering for a few strategic, global collaborations with partners in the health, agriculture, food security and global supply chain. Conducted research and developed strategy for WV's engagement with the United Nations and Multilateral agencies and integrated this into knowledge management systems. Developed tools and provided partnering training in support of relationships with external institutions.

Toronto, Canada Area

Seconded by World Vision International to bring together NGO partners and networks with SUSTAIN GP which aggregates and optimizes the humanitarian supply chain to increase humanitarian aid and development. Provide guidance on patnership planning and design.SUSTAIN GP is a multistakeholder partnership with World Vision and CARE, global transport and logistics suppliers, e.g. UPS and TNT, consultanting organizations, e.g. Booz Allen Hamilton and Accenture, with academic institutions from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Generated support from from multinational corporations and developed relationships with global teams of fundraising and program staff. Led advocacy efforts on girls' rights within the global business community. Increased partnership capacity to foster a structural and cultural shift in partnerships with corporations.

A year off paid work to explore new interests and take time to reflect on goals. Provided consulting in philanthropy and partnership at the Abraham Path Initiative and surveyed the Canadian partnership landscape with interviews of some inspiring leaders of civil society and business regarding the state of cross sector stakeholder engagement in Canada.

Guadalajara Area, Mexico

Directed the Association of Fundraising Professional's work in Latin America including: strategic planning for membership growth and supporting local organizations in Mexico and Puerto Rico. Developed partnerships with donors, educational institutions, and other associations in the region and directed AFP's capacity-building events in Mexico and Brazil.

Developed financially sustainable low-income housing programs by improving local resource development. Prepared funding proposals for foundations and corporations, closed major gifts, organized special events to raise funds and oriented board members in their responsibilities. Recruited and supervised staff, prepared resource development work plans, strategic planning and budgets.

Managed regional office (staff of 20) and initiated the fundraising department for the national offices in Bolivia. Hired, trained and supervised staff, oriented volunteers and Boards of Directors. Developed alliances with service clubs, national and international companies and prepared special events that generated cash, in-kind donations and national media coverage.

One of six candidates selected in 2003 to study the USA Third Sector and do related research. Topic: the role of intermediary organizations in the facilitation of partnerships between businesses and non-profit organizations.

Provided field support and reporting to the Canadian International Development Agency for a primary health project in Chile, Bolivia and Argentina. Initiated and organized first aid, land mine removal and water safety projects in Jamaica, Nicaragua and Guyana.

Implemented Canadian/Chilean water project with indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian Andes funded by bilateral funding. Coordinated and negotiated agreements with Ecuadorian government, European Union, and indigenous councils to implement community development projects.

Built an equity position in one of Ottawa's leading insurance brokerages, develop budgets and sales projections, produce corporate newsletter, hire and manage staff.
