Managed a team of 18 Category Managers to deliver enterprise wide sourcing initiatives for the City of Gold Coast with an addressable annual spend of $850m. Key focus area is on developing category management plans supporting the strategic procurement and contracting direction of all Directorates and internal customers while managing a Category based Stakeholder Focused Procurement model.Annual contracting plan included major and minor capital infrastructure, commodity and services based sourcing and contracting. In addition, I was also a member of the BLT (Business Leadership Team) within various Directorates including the Gold Coast Water Directorate.

As a contract role, the scope of this position was to manage a team of procurement professionals and deliver on integrating the logistics team to create an end-to-end Supply Chain and Procurement Department. The establishment of three regional warehouses to support the RMO side of the SEQ water grid along with all procurement and sourcing activities was under my direction. Liaising with senior management to develop sourcing strategies to support all capital construction and renewals program along with all commodity and professional services based contracts was under my direction.

*Caterpillar Global Mining acquisition of Bucyrus Global Mining. Managed a team of procurement and supply chain professionals at multiple sites across Australia supporting all OEM and aftermarket goods and services for the Caterpillar business. This required the management of end-to-end Supply Chain activities including inventory and stock management, demand planning, strategic sourcing, general purchasing and P2P, SRM and contract management. In addition, this position was responsible for managing a major supply chain department transition project from the previous Bucyrus business to a Caterpillar OEM and Caterpillar dealer support model resulting from the global Caterpillar acquisition of the Bucyrus business.

This position demanded Lean Supply Chain and manufacturing supply chain practices including 5S and Kaizen.
