I joined whitespace as a Digital Media Developer and was promoted to Senior developer at the beginning of 2012. There were two major aspects to the role: I organise, support and assist our development team. I have oversight throughout the lifecycle of the project, approving wireframes/designs, brief, development solutions, support/guidance and QA.With the rest of the management team I work towards shaping the development team’s technical direction. I have designed best practise and give feedback on team performance. In the more technical side of my role I support legacy projects, develop new and add new functionality to existing websites from wireframes and PSDs. Using mostly HTML/CSS/JS (jQuery/Prototype) on the front end and PHP/SQL on the backend my day to day work also extends to XSLT and api integrations, SEO optimization, various CMSs (Drupal, Wordpress, Expression Engine, Craft abd bolt). I am proficient with git/svn and linux/apache server administration. I am regularly asked to solve problems by my junior team and other colleagues.
