Our focus was the beach community of Pacifica, CA. Specifically, This studio imagined an expanded, 21st century role for the fire station and designed new models to serve towns like Pacifica both in times of disaster and non-disaster.The studio was developed in conjunction with an advisory group drawn from the Pacifica Planning Department, San Mateo County Fire Department, San Francisco Planning + Research Association (SPUR), the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), Hodge Arts in Half Moon Bay, and others.
