I co-taught an Advanced Architecture studio, titled "LITTORAL DRIFT: Strategies for the Coastal Fringe." The studio included a mix of undergraduate as well as graduate students. The goal was to help small coastal communities with limited resources develop design responses to the social and environmental impacts of sea level rise. Our focus was the beach community of Pacifica, CA. Specifically, This studio imagined an expanded, 21st century role for the fire station and designed new models to serve towns like Pacifica both in times of disaster and non-disaster.The studio was developed in conjunction with an advisory group drawn from the Pacifica Planning Department, San Mateo County Fire Department, San Francisco Planning + Research Association (SPUR), the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), Hodge Arts in Half Moon Bay, and others.

Waller Creek Urban Design Competition - Austin, TXLed the development of cultural, community engagement, and design strategy for a new public realm along a 1.5 mile site dividing Central and East Austin. My work included competition-stage outreach to targeted community stakeholders as well as the cultivation of cultural partnerships, with a goal of achieving a responsive approach to place-making rooted in an in-depth understanding of the varying needs and opportunities on-site (in collaboration with CMG Landscape Architecture).Fire Station Health Centers - Alameda County, CADirected research and development of facilities planning resources for Alameda County Health Care Services Agency’s first-of-its-kind program to co-locate health clinics on fire station sites, to improve access to primary and preventive care in low income, under-insured communities.Design For Reuse PrimerResearched and wrote case studies on pioneering commercial-scale building material reuse projects for a USGBC-funded publication intended to demystify and promote reuse within the mainstream design and construction industries.Power of Pro Bono (Book)Conducted interview-based research and assisted in editing book published by Metropolis Books / DAP Publishers subtitled, “Forty Stories About Design for the Public Good by Architects and Their Clients.”
