I am currently on placement at Sandymoor in which I quickly integrated myself into the school community. I have gained practical and theoretical teaching experience at key stage three and four level in which I am receiving consistent grade one outstanding observations. Notably, I have recently received an outstanding in a lesson observation from an external examiner when Edge Hill University was being moderated. I have enjoyed establishing extra-curricular clubs in athletics and tennis, where the numbers of pupils attending have risen to over 20. I have volunteered my assistance on trips such as a rugby festival and GCSE moderation of climbing. I have gained valuable experience in organising large events by sharing responsibility to organise a key stage 3 cricket competition. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Sandymoor High School and feel eager to embark on my NQT year.

I gained invaluable experience whilst on my first teaching placement at Weaverham. I taught key stages 3 and 4 in both theoretical and practical settings. The skills I most prominently developed were: behavioural management techniques and the importance of adhering to a whole-school approach, the ability to build a rapport with pupils and organisation to cope with the demands of teaching. I enjoyed leading a variety of extra-curricular clubs everyday of the week. It is something I take great pleasure and pride in as part of my vocation; I believe my commitment to these roles demonstrates my dedication to enriching the school experience and developing young people.

I primarily supported SEN pupils with learning difficulties such as, autism, ADHD, dyslexia and epilepsy. I constantly communicated with teachers and parents to ensure all students made progress. This role refined my ability to differentiate to the specific needs of all pupils and use my initiative to create appropriate resources to facilitate their involvement in the lesson. I observed a variety of teaching styles and this experience greatly enhanced my knowledge and understanding of teaching. I took great pleasure and pride in coaching the year 8 rugby team, committing 2 evenings and a Saturday morning to the role. I also assisted in a netball coaching session to develop my knowledge prior to my PGCE year.

During the 2 months I worked for Randstad I spent the entire time working at St. Helens pupil referral unit. I faced prominent barriers such as poor behaviour, emotional difficulties and violence that prevented pupils achieving their full potential. I used my leadership skills to take responsibility for PE lessons that were limited and succeeded in setting up a football team. This experience developed my assertiveness and I combatted challenging behaviour by implementing sanctions if it did not meet my level of expectation; I was pleased to see behaviour improve. This experience greatly enhanced my confidence and I left the PRU feeling well equipped to succeed in my next role.

I worked as a sales associate due to living circumstances and the need of guaranteed hours which I was unable to get working for an agency. I worked on the till, stocking and cleaning the store and forecourt.

During my time working for the agency I gained experience in various institutes. Notably, I worked for 2 months at Bridge College Manchester. I developed my ability to facilitate the engagement of all pupils with various SEN.
