I love a challenge, I am intrigued by ideas, I constantly challenge the status quo because what we are capable of today is not as important as what we may be capable of in the future. I am a great leader because I have the ability to hold up a mirror that allows others to see what I see, and they get inspired by their reflection. My talent is not in coercion, misdirection, or manipulation, my talent is in helping others remove their blinders. I have a 13-year BS degree because I enjoy learning and changed my degree many times. I believe the education system encourages memorization more than competence. As such, I believe we need to think about what we enjoy and learn more about it. Forget about the degree and focus on what you want to gain from education. The degree will come through work and joy opposed to stress, fear and shame. "It's about the journey, not the destination."I am fiercely loyal to my teams, to a fault. I believe that mistakes can be the most powerful teacher when leadership allows the space to be imperfect. I tend to be too lenient because I see the best in people and want them to grow and improve. I know that I am a great leader to peers and subordinates.... and I am working to improve my skills leading "up the chain". To all the managers I have had contact with, please know that my passion lies in improvement, innovation, safety, growth, and change. I am confident that I had valid reasons for the conflict, I am also confident I did not present myself in the most constructive manner. I am growing and learning to find better ways to approach my leaders with the topics I am passionate about.Who I am is still a work in progress and will be for the rest of my life. I am imperfect today, and I will be imperfect tomorrow. My only hope is that tomorrow, I can learn from what happens today.
