Two of my greatest interests have always been foreign policy and physics, which is what led to my pursuit and procurement of a BA and MA in Political Science with a concentration in Comparative Politics, as well as a Minor in Applied Physics from American University. My passion for foreign policy and physical sciences has led me to two different internships on Capitol Hill working with legislative assistants in foreign affairs and environmental and energy policy, as well as a summer internship in the State Department's Bureau of Economics and Business Affairs, Office of Investment Affairs. In this internship I was a member of the office team as the State Department's representative to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), in which we monitored foreign acquisitions of emerging technologies through American companies for the sake of national security. From these various internships and my academic career, I have developed strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail. As a result of my rigorous academic coursework I have developed strong research, analytical, and writing skills. I also have experience successfully collaborating with others to accomplish office goals for both daily tasks and larger-scale projects. Additionally, having experienced the bureaucracy of the federal government firsthand and needing to regularly turn around memos in short notice, I am used to working under close deadlines.
