During my tenure at VMLY&R South Africa, I had the opportunity to contribute to several notable projects that showcased my expertise in frontend development and interaction design.Nando's E-commerce:As the lead frontend developer for the full Nando's online e-commerce platform, I spearheaded the creation and maintenance of a design system, built customer facing Vue.js frontends, hybrid mobile applications and back-office tools aimed at streamlining processes, optimising inventory management, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. By combining technical excellence, thoughtful design, and data-driven insights we helped position Nando's as a frontrunner in the digital marketplace, achieving remarkable growth in online sales and market share.Nando's B2B:I led the development of a B2B application for Nando's, facilitating subscription based bulk food voucher purchases. My role encompassed architecting and executing the backend infrastructure on Google Firebase, incorporating Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Authentication for robust functionality and data security. I also designed and built the frontend using React.js, ensuring a seamless user experience and a well-integrated solution.BMW i3:I contributed significantly to a groundbreaking project for BMW in 2015, where voice commands were employed for website navigation and control. Collaborating closely with designers and fellow developers, I pushed the boundaries of user interaction, emulating the car's own voice-control capabilities for visitors. By integrating cutting-edge technologies, this project delivered a novel, hands-free browsing experience, exemplifying the intersection of innovation and user experience.Standard Bank:Collaborating with a talented team, I developed captivating 3D WebGL experiences using Three.js. These interactive digital solutions not only showcased Standard Bank's products and services but also engaged users through immersive and visually stunning interfaces.
