I was a service engineer in Rain Bird's Global Support Plan (GSP) department, specializing in pump station support. The irrigation pump stations I supported ranged from small boost pumps to large pump house installations and all related systems. I worked with other service engineers, contractors in the field, and customer representatives to resolve issues with pump stations in the field. Unfortunately, this position was eliminated due to the COVID-19 pandemic and I was laid off after three weeks. There are significant aspects of the position that never materialized due to the effects of the pandemic, such as training contractors and providing pump station field service on site.
