At an early age Brad moved with his family from Minnesota to California. It didn't take long for him to realize how fortunate we are to live, work, and play here on California's Central Coast. After attending Allan Hancock College Brad spent several years traveling, and studying abroad throughout Mexico, Central and South America.Almost 16 years have passed since Brad returned to the Central Coast. Upon returning, he began working in the local court system as a peace officer with the Santa Barbara County Probation Department. Exposure to the courtroom as a probation officer compelled him to go back to school. He worked full-time through law school until his last semester when he interned with the local prosecutor's office.In 2009, Brad opened a solo litigation practice where he defended hundreds of court-appointed client's facing serious and violent criminal charges. He also provided exceptional representation to his private clients in criminal, family, immigration, and civil matters.In early 2012, Brad was recruited by the Office of the Public Defender for Santa Barbara County. After almost four years as a Deputy Public Defender fighting - day in and day out - for the rights of his clients in thousands of cases, Brad has earned a reputation as a formidable advocate.In the fall of 2015, Brad and former Deputy Public Defender, Adrian Galvan, formed the law firm of Galvan & Cornelius, LLP to once again offer his service, dedication, and experience to the entire Central Coast.
