I started my working life in the Public Safety field in 1979. After I received my First Responder certification. I took my training from the Readfield Fire Department in Readfield, Maine. I decided to work out of Manancook Community School has a Jr. in my high school I did my internship out of Manancook Community School and the Augusta Fire department in 1981. I relocated to Grand Island, New York in late 1981 to attend high school in my senior year of 1982. I had a opportunity to do some under cover work for the school district. I worked with the local school administrators and local law enforcement in a uncovered drug operation. I received my Emergency Medical Technician certification in 1982 by the Grand Island Fire Department. After I finish my senior year I decided to move back to Maine. In 1985 I joined the West Paris Fire Department , Tri Town Rescue Services . I was the Deputy Director of West Paris Emergency Management Agency. In 1986 I went to the Maine Criminal Justice Academy earning my certifications as a Police Officer. I joined the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department, Mechanic Falls Police Department. During this time I got involved in some drug related investigations and lost a brother in blue by assassination in the Town of Norway Maine in 1989. I would learn that the drug problem was bigger than I could believe. Town of Norway was deeply involved in the drug problem. Our police department was being investigate by a state investigation on possible police corruption. We had the State Police and the federal agencies in the town for months. They would be investigating the Chief of the department and officers on the town police department. This action brought alot of questions to the local town. They came in and the district attorney Janet Mills decided to bring a Indictment against a local know drug dealer. They decided to charge him with the assassination of this police officer. He was in jail for two years before he went to trial. Questions remain to this day of who got away with this murder. To this day the rumors remain on what happened in Norway, Maine on that night in 1989. I needed to change my atmosphere and went to Vermont to take a Detective role. I came back to Maine in 1995. I decided to start a security agency and had clients from Southern Maine to Northern Maine. In 2019 I went back to school and earned my Certified Peer Support Specialists license and went to work for Oxford County Mental Health Services .

Advisory Board MemberHills Recovery Center Apr 2023 - PresentUnited StatesI was appointed to the HILLS Recovery Center Peer Advisory Board in April of 2023. We have a membership of 8 board members. I started has a Certified Peer Support Specialists in 2019. I started my role in Peer Support with the Oxford County Mental Health Services. I earned my Registered Recovery Coach Certification in 2022. I believe in the scope of this newly formed Recovery Center in Western Maine located in the Town of Norway Maine. We are assigned to special tasks by our Director's of the HILLS Recovery Center. We have added many programs to our week. We have very dedicated full-time team members. We have developed a Smart meeting, other meeting Tuesday though Friday. Our hours are Monday-Friday 11-3 and the last Saturday of each month. Someone is at the center 8-4 Monday - Friday walkin welcome. We hold a community out reach meeting on the 1st Wednesday of each month. These meetings are open to the public to attend. I August of 2023 I earned my certification as a Emergency Department Recovery Coach. This is a great thing because I can help a citizen in one of their worst times of their life. I can help someone in a crisis moment. In April of 2024 the LD 1714 was signed in to law after along debate and by Sen. Rick Bennett fighting in the final minutes to get it to the desk of Governor Mills. This bill isn't everything we needed but it's a start for the 21 Recovery Centers in Maine. Our location is 15 Tannery Street Norway.

I am one of the original board members. This Board is run by Peers of the Recovery community. I have seen members come and go . This PAB is a very important part of the governing of the operation of the HILLS Recovery Center. I feel very grateful of being on the bottom floor of this organization.

I am honored to serve on the very well know national agency. I will support this agency till the day I join my maker. During the time from late 2019 we were fighting a Pandemic believe to have come from China. In 2020 we were told not to visit anyone. They closed business and schools. They told us to wear a face mask at all times. people were dieing from the sickness by the thousands everyday. The CDC came out with a vaccine in the late 2022. We were also told to get the vaccine so they set up locations to go to get the unknown vaccine. In 2023 it was believed to be over. We were allowed to open the business and the schools. We went back to a normal way of living in the United States. 🇺🇸

This was during a pandemic in the United States which started in late 2019. The government believed it was from China. We were told by our government to not go out and to wear face mask every place we went . We was told to stay home. It was a time that we were not allowed to see our clients in person. All business functions were done on line. citizen's were dieing on a daily basics and the hospital were full .They canceled routine surgeries and all beds in use by the sickness. We had two Peer Support Specialists in the Norway office. We are here to help our members in the mental at the time. We have a broken health systems and mental health system. I am a daily support for my members of the mental health services. I work with my colleagues to provide a quality service. I help my members on personal growth and any crisis that may come up. I try to gave them the tools that they need. We are awaiting for changes coming down from our state agency . We are looking at a new Certified Community Behavioral Health Center's set to start in July of 2024. These new Center's will be required to have Certified Peer Support Specialists and Registered. Recovery Coach. We are also looking at the new Mobile Crisis Team and to include having Certified Peer Support Specialists and Registered Recovery Coach on staff in our Emergency Rooms. The State of Maine is working on improving our CIPSS program in 2024. I moved on from OCMHS in late April of 2024.

I was hired to work patrol and up hold criminal laws and investigation of criminal activities. Making arrest and testimonials in court. I uphold State and Federal laws on the books. During this time in 1989 a Reserve Norway Police officer was killed. This officer was located on Pikes hill in the town of Norway. It was a very hard time for everyone to deal with what was going on in this small town. Citizens were afraid of the recent murder of a high profile murder case. Was it a drug deal gone bad .

Train Derailment to include a forest fire when I was injured in the 80's. -

I got involved in a drug related death case by a inmate information about a past murder and the location of the weapon that was used in the crime. I did my investigation and going to my administrative supervisor for leadership. I ended up turning the case over to the Detective division and working with senior Detectives on the case . We did recovery the said murder weapon.

First ResponderReadfield Fire And Rescue Department Apr 1979 - Jun 1981United StatesI received my certifications as a First Responder in 1979. I was able to respond to emergencies from school. I was toned out one afternoon for a 10-55 ( car accident) down the street from the school. I was one of the first ones on the scene. I noticed this white car and a subject in the driver's seat. It was a very bad scene at which time I noticed that this person was decapitated. I also noticed a small child on the ground about 100 feet from the car. It which time I noticed that the child was dead. I was sick to my stomach and went behind the fire engine and I was sick. My chief came over to check on me. This was my very first call I went on. I decided to finish the process with dealing with the accident scene. I decided to go home and not return to the school. I couldn't sleep that night without having thoughs of that scene. It was a useless activity because the driver was oui and he killed his son. Come to find out that he was a local doctor and knew better.
