Western University

Maintained the Microsoft IIS and Windows Servers platform used by Western University’s Social Science Department. Tasks included maintaining security, configuring log file analysis using AWStats, performing system updates, performing data migrations, and developing new internet and secure intranet sites. Maintained SQL/Active Directory databases used by the Western University network. Tasks included modifying Social Science group policies through major system overhauls, improving automation of user security permissions, and developing secure web applications used to manage and query the SQL database.Designed, implemented, and regularly updated several secure database and student/faculty administration applications using PHP, Perl, and JavaScript. Improved system efficiency compared to previous implementation by over 50 times in several common use cases.Authored several programs used by faculty for scientific and mathematical analysis, as well as high security research database software using C++, Visual Basic, and the Windows API.
