After studying industrial design and working for six years on projects that were both technical and creative, I decided to take on the challenge of studying mechanical engineering, with the aim of equipping myself with the knowledge and expertise to tackle the challenges that our world faces today.Having come from a design background, I endeavour to utilize my intuitive understanding of how people engage with products – and combine it with an ever-growing engineering skillset to create designs that encourage harmony between people, machines and the environment.I am currently leading a team of fellow students on a community engagement project which involves teaching high school students how to design, program and build a line-follower robot, providing them with meaningful exposure to the STEM field.I am knowledgeable in Solidworks CAD, electrical circuit analysis, materials science and analysis of static structures. I have practical training for manufacturing processes such as milling; fitting and turning; wiring electrical panels, motors and switches; welding; and soldering.
