Throughout most of my life, engineering has been the most natural career path for me even if I did not realize it as a child. It was not until high school that I finally came to realize this. During my junior and senior years of high school, I attended a technical vocational school known as the Career and Technology Education Centers of Licking County (C-TEC) as a student in the Architecture and Engineering Design Program. It was involvement in this program as a student that made me fully committed to engineering as a career path. After graduating with honors from C-TEC, I earned my associate's degree in electrical engineering technology from Central Ohio Technical College. Today, I am a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU). I am also currently serving as the hardware lead and safety driver for the University's AutoDrive team. The AutoDrive challenge is a 5-year autonomous vehicle competition held among 10 universities and mainly sponsored by General Motors and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). During this competition, each University team is tasked with converting a Chevy Bolt EUV 2022 into a level 4 autonomous vehicle. It has been more than two years since I first became a member of the AutoDrive team and I have been heavily involved since.I am most interested in the defense, robotics, nuclear, automotive, and additive manufacturing industries. In my free time, I often enjoy 3D printing and working on my programming projects. My largest programming project by far is my automated forex trading AI which is entirely programmed in Python and has more than 500 lines of functional code. My hobbyist activities in 3D printing and programming allow me to maintain strong proficiency in both Python and SolidWorks. Despite the engineering knowledge and technical achievements I have accumulated so far, it never seems to be enough as I am always trying to acquire new technical skills and work on additional engineering projects as a hobby.
