The Dow Jones Newswires technical team's role is to fulfil feed customer change requests and provide support and expertise to internal and external customers regarding the delivery of Newswires content.

In this role within News UK I managed the technical and practical operations of News Studios, the company’s TV, Radio and Photographic studios in their Landmark London Bridge offices.My responsibilities included support of the entire broadcast chain from glass to glass including broadcast IT, video, audio and lighting systems and physical facilities such as the studio infrastructure. The areas I had responsibility for included two fully specified HDTV studios, a Radio studio, a Live contribution studio and three on-floor editorial studio areas used by the newspaper production teams in the Sun, Times and Wall Street Journal.In addition to support and management of day to day studio systems, I regularly assisted with complex productions, where additional experience and technical knowledge was required. Examples of this include sound engineering for live music sessions, outside broadcast and lines and complex streaming configuration where multiple endpoints were needed.

In my role as assistant Studio Manager I supported all aspects of multimedia production for web and mobile app products for the websites of two of the UK's biggest daily and Sunday newspapers and internal corporate productions.Working with the Studio Manager I supported the rich media content systems for online and broadcast production from glass to glass,Duties included system design and implementation - we designed and built new studios three times as the company moved buildings, documentation and training, operation of the systems where required (sound, video, lighting, virtual and physical sets, ingest, edit, transcode), and configuration and management of output (live streams, IPTV and file based output for the web).
